Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Robert Stirling

He put the heat on.

Very inefficient, Chud? I hope flesh eating bacteria attacks your lady pleasing bits, you fucking asshole.

All right, as all of you know, there is a bit of an energy crunch happening in north america. Now, there are no simple solutions, but there are solutions. I have talked about butanol and algae biodiesel in previous posts, but in light of the national average of regular unleaded hovering about the three dollar mark, I feel it bears repeating.

First off, please look this article over. It was written by Mike Briggs, and while it takes some stretches, if more cars slowly started using compression engines, in about ten years, foreign oil could greatly be removed from the equation. Bad news for Alberta.

Secondly, look these guys over. Any gasoline engine can run off of butanol. Granted there are some modifications required, but they are minor, and trust me, it's worth it.

Right now, it takes 14 pounds of sugar to produce a gallon of butanol. A 25 pound bag of sugar goes for around 50 bucks. That is two dollars a pound, so, seven dollars a gallon. Assuming that you are doing it yourself, that is double the price of gas, plus a dollar.

However, I am sure the Michigan sugar company of Bay City would be able to make it economical.

My point? Oh yes, I geuss I should get around to that. My point is that IT'S NOT THE ENGINE, IT'S THE FUEL, Chud!

Suck it.

chuck, go to your room while daddies fight.

first off scoots, it is the engine. it's the whole concept of cars and internal combustion. the efficiency isn't there, and here's my problem, a typical IC engine weighs double what i do. and i'm a fat bastard. add to that the weight of the fuel, shit, i'm an after thought in the mobility. add a frame to it, some crumple zones, and really the only reason i'm there is to stop the thing from running over children in school zones. compression engines are fine, sure, but even still they're not efficient. sure they burn well, and all that happy crappy. but really, you and i both know they run at best around 40% efficient. the whole concept of IC is shit. it worked a long time ago. now? it's shit. i'm too drunk and tired right now to really get into this, but rebut, and i will answer tomorrow when sober.
