Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Eunice Kennedy

Johnny Knoxville owes her big.

American Idol is poisonous. Now granted, some people with marginal singing talent just audition to get some laughs, some genuinely talented people just might not have that intangible "spark"... those people can get and take harsh words. Others, like Jonathan Jayne, a former Special Olympics athlete... Well, they desrve respect at all times. Cowell's snarkiness when Jayne left the room was just wrong. I, myself, am guilty of treating people one way when they are in front of me and another way behind their back. I am ashamed of this, and do my best to never sin (yes, sin) in this manner again.

Cowell is a small, small person.

Kenneth Briggs respected Abdul, Jackson, and for some inexplicable reason, Cowell enough to come in front of them and do his best. They should have given it to him straight. However, to compare a human being to a lower primate... is beyond the pale. I cannot, and will not ever, watch another epsiode of "American Idol". There's brutal honesty, and then there's pointless cruelty.

American Idol is a hateful program that hurts humanity more than it uplifts it, and I cannot in good conscience support it.

I never watch the show anyway, but give me a fucking break.

If you think the majority of the 37 million people who tuned in to the shitty audition show wanted anything less, then you're delusional.

HE LOOKED LIKE A GODDAMN BUSH BABY!

Besides, the ability to run and not hit a wall, does not make one an 'athlete'

I don't watch it either, but the contestants know they are opening themselves up for some harsh criticism. Most of them are probably just trying to be the next William Hung. If they want their 15 minutes of fame by Simon calling them a dancing monkey, that's up to them.
