Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Malcolm X

He was a modern prophet silenced too soon.

Ok, The Hajj. In Islam, every adherent capable of doing so is required to make a pilgrimage to the holy land at least once in their life. There are about one thousand four hundred million Muslims in the world today. Let's assume that 95 per cent of them can make the journey. That's one and a third billion people. Let's assume that each Muslim lives an average of seventy years. That means that at least 19,050,000 human beings must visit Mecca every year.

The sewage problems alone must be mythic.
