Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Leslie Nielsen

March 15, 1956.

So, I was just reading an online comic, right? Diesel Sweeties, by R. Stevens. I am not going to link to his page, because he gets enough press, damn it. Any ways, There were a couple of comics that featured "cousin Bobby", an obvious parody of Robby the Robot, from the classic movie "Forbidden Planet".

You remember "forbidden Planet", don't you? It's been around for fifty years, right? It's still worth watching. It has an all-electronic score, the special effects are authentic and believable, and the story is classic. Well, the story ought to be classic, it's a take-off from Shakespeare's "The Tempest".

Where am I going with this? Well, I remember watching "Forbidden Planet" on TNT when I was like, 11 or so. It was mesmerizing. I fell in love with science fiction thanks to that movie. Especially space opera kind of stuff. Heinlein is still my favorite author.

So yeah, I just thought I would jot this down.
