Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

He turned me on to http://simple.wikipedia.org and for that I am very thankful.

Any way, simple english wikipedia is the Wiki Media foundation's effort to expand knowledge to children and those just learning english. However, it's more than that. It's easy to write in complicated language about complicated subjects. It is supremely difficult to break a subject down into its core essence, and translate that effort into an easy to read and utterly understandable form.

Or, put simply, writing about a hard subject in hard english is easy, but making a hard subject easy is hard.

God Bless the Internet.

very cool. i think i'm in love with all things wiki

i have long held a theory that the reason people find math and science difficult is that it's not written in english.

There are a couple of nice spin-offs too.
