Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Rupert Blue

He was the Surgeon General of the United States during the 1918 Flu pandemic.

Ok, so the CDC is saying that H1N1 is going to be bad. Like,an infection of 30 to 50 per cent of the American population bad. I find that highly unlikely. Let's look at Mexico, the origin of the H1N1 outbreak. The country shut down. Mexico city was a god damn ghost town.

If the Swine Flu gets pretty bad here, we will lock down and sit tight. Everybody knows that the flu is passed through the air and through physical contact. Look at Hong Kong during the SARS epidemic. It became a ghost town.

Now, people are going to die from H1N1. But, 36,000 people die a year from the regular flu. Be concerned, but trust that people will sit tight if things start to look bad.

Buy a mask, and some Purel. But... don't... panic.
