Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Edward Cullen

He is a sociopathic insomniac that quite literally wants to eat a woman 85 years his junior, who for some strange reason finds this monster attractive.

I don't get "Twilight". Vampires are not supposed to be sympathetic figures. These legendary creatures are beyond human empathy, and can behave in ways that would cause utter ruin for their human counterparts. They sure as fuck should not...

They SPARKLE, in "Twilight", for goodness' sake! That just pisses me off. Vampires are supposed to be the embodiment of unchained animal desire. They are feral cannibals on a liquid diet that hunt through sexual seduction.

Sparkling in the daylight is effeminate. I suppose it would be useful for a male homosexual vampire, or a female heterosexual vampire, but not for a male character in a hetero-normative story. Masculinity is supposed to be about sweating, and grunting, and dealing with the wild raccoons that get caught in the dumpster. I don't fucking sparkle, and I am proud of this.

I also don't want to string Kim up like a chicken, and suck her dry from a gaping neck wound.

I don't get "Twilight".

you would freak those mellow raccoons out if you sparkled when you freed them.

Thats too bad, because they are great books. I admit, the sparkling thing is not my favorite, but it seems more feasible than disintegrating in the sunlight. Much more believable. And of course he wants to eat Bella, but the fact that he doesn't because he loves her so much and overcomes his primal urges is fan-fucking-tastically romantic. Read the books. I promise it's better than the movie you're dogging that you probably haven't even watched in the first place! :P
