Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Adam Sessler

I had meant to edit Morgan Webb, but it's been several days...

So, I am feeling better, and as such, I feel I ought to let some of you know about a little gem of international culture that I have recently found myself watching. In Japan, a popular athletic contest has been broadcast from the Tokyo Broadcasting System since 1997. To date, there are currently 19 three hour specials. Now, I know that most of my readers are not fluent in Japanese, so if it were just being broadcast in Japan, I doubt I would be talking about this. I mean, I do get international programming on the "Link" channel from DirecTV, but it is generally really, really boring.

"Sasuke" is by any count, not boring. Joe, I remember you were talking about "American Gladiators". Well, G4 has bought the rights to rebroadcast "Sasuke" in the States. The have rebranded it as "Ninja Warrior". Instead of three hour blocks, it has been edited down to half hour episodes. It's really, really fun. Check it out some time.

Still got nothing on "Viking", which I used to DVR when I was living in Garden City. I believe it's by the same people, but it was a HELL of a lot harder.
