Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Dave Gahan

I don't care what anybody says, Depeche Mode speaks to me.

Eighties music. I don't know if I can adequately describe it, but Eighties music... is comforting and kind. Sure, there are plenty of good bands out these days... Maroon Five is all right. Green Day is pretty easy listening. Indeed, a lot of the bands from the Eighties are still producing material.

I dunno. I just really like Eighties music. If that makes me a shallow nostalgic sap with no sense of culture, so be it.

I'll still do the Sand dance.

Um, Scooter? My favorite band is ABBA. So, rock on.

I saw DM at Giants Stadium in
1989. Dave Gahan may be the gayest man alive next to Freddie Mercury, but he is one sexy mofo anyway. Not too many dudes can carry off a bare, hairless chest and cowboy hat. Not too many.

Shallow nostalgic sap? No sense of culture? Whaaat?

A great deal of my cherished, favorite music resides in the Eighties era. If not most of it.

If anything, it's the opposite with a whole lot of music today. Lacking depth and culture. When else other than the 80's can you find a prominent, delicious mix of New-wave, Darkwave, Punk, Goth, and incredibly kickass Metal?

Call me out-of-touch with bad-taste, fuck it. I'm with ya Mark. -_^

But would you leave your friends behind if they don't dance?
