He spent the last three years of his life preaching love and tolerance, and healing the sick. One of his closest associates betrays him to an occupying power, and he is tortured, humiliated, and killed. He rises from the dead three days later, and tells his followers to spread the good news.
Easter is the anti-Christmas.
Have a good Friday, eh?
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

"Have a good Friday"...?
Tell me you didn't.
You know what I'm doing on Good Friday?
I'm eating my left over corned beef from St. Pats.
And it is delicious.
And I;m going to hell.
P.S. It is 12:02am Saturday morning. I have yet to get arou nd my plate to the corned beef.
I guess I;m not going to hell after all.
wouldn't easter technically be "re-christmas?" i mean, he's dead, and is re-born/arisen to spread the word then ascend for our sins and open the gates of heaven to us once more. so... technically it's more of a christmas than christmas. "welcome to paradise, thanks for beating and killing me, but i have to say the walking on water schtick was my fave to pull off. i'll be your MC tonight, and i'm J.C."
I agree with Chud. The holy ghostification of Jesus is like Nouveau Christmas. Wasn't Friday also Purim?
Ok. Fine... Easter is Christmas, only with torture and capital punishment.
and really, what is christmas without capital punishment? thanksgiving. that's what it is.
Hmmm. Easter is really Festivus with a cross instead of a pole.
