Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

David Attenborough

He is a naturalist. No, that does not mean he doesn't wear clothes.

Um... I was going to make this a week of obscure mammals, but I got sidetracked by the election. Any ways, I have been meaning to blog this for a couple of days. Jerry Clayton, a 20 year veteran of the Washtenaw County Shefiff's department, and international consultant on policing issues, has unseated Daniel Minzey (Minzey looks like a penis with a mustache, I swear) in the primary election two days ago.

Now, Jerry Clayton is running as a Democrat, and since The People's Republic of Ann Arbor is about as blue as they come, he is most likely going to win election as the Sheriff of Washtenaw County this November.

Jerry Clayton happens to be a black man. I am going to have a black sheriff.

"He Rode A Blazing Saddle, He Wore A Shining Star..."

Oh, don't give me that look. Bart was the hero, after all.
