Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Napoleon Cybulski

He isolated and identified adrenaline in 1895.

So, Kim, Sadie and I were taking an after dinner walk around the block. It went well until just about the half way point. Unfortunately for me but fortunately for Sadie and Kim, I am tall. See, when hornets or wasps defend their nest, they have to drop down from their cruising altitude. Any ways, I started screaming and dropping down when I got stung for the first time, and that gave Kim enough advance warning to pick up Sadie and "bug out", to use a figure of speech.

Getting stung hurts. Geting stung twice on the neck, one such sting on a nerve, hurts about 100 per cent more.

So, yeah. At least I am not allergic. Still, neurotoxin poisoning is a weird experience.

On a more positive note, we are going to watch "Pineapple Express" tonight. That should be fun.

Pineapple Express was funny! Sorry you got stung. That hive was the first active hive that I've ever seen that large. They were indeed swarming. It was freaky to look back and see 100's of stinging inscects circling the nest from the ground up. Sadie and I are VERY lucky. I hope you have given up on the idea of killing the hive with bug spray... tho I like the blowtorch idea! Mwah!
