Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Barack Obama

I'm just happy that the guy who was supposed to win actually won. Remember that Al Gore won by over a million votes.

Kim's grandmother died, and I am here, and she is there.

And that sucks.

It won't be like this for much longer. I can wait until tomorrow to snuggle in your arms.

i am actually pleased to be wrong about the country not being willing to elect a black man.

although some of the things i have heard come out of people's mouths here, in the supposed most liberal state in the union - - too disturbing for type. i had forgotten there were labels as appalling, if not more so, than the n word.

last night's vote though gives me the tiniest glimmer of hope that i might see something like the infirmity of racism. maybe malachai will get to see its death.
