Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Robert Englund

He actually has done lots of stuff since Freddy Krueger. You ought to check him out.

So... I want to wear a Freddy Krueger sweater to a family function, and see if anyone notices.

Chud, Right around when oil hit about 75 dollars a barrel, I asked if you thought there would be another oil crash, bottoming out at thirty dollars a barrel. I think that was about two years ago, but I think oil closed at a little over thirty nine dollars last night.

Rev... you're all right.

Joe, Kim wants me to abstain from alcohol during the gestational period.

Kim, Los Angeles is a smoggy, concrete encrusted, teenage runaway soul stealing... cancerous wart on the ass of California, and I patently refuse to support such a monstrosity with my state tax dollars. Detroit is dying, Los Angeles is GROWING.

Kristen, thank you for your wonderful essays.

Stepho, you, your huband, your brother, and his heterosexual life mate are good people.

Heidi, I am so glad that we can reconnect.

Cassie, please continue to goad me into arguing about esoterica and minutiae.

Everyone, this form of media gives me great joy, and I promise to remain a prolific blogger in the coming year.

California is beautiful - that's why it prospers. L.A. is the buthole of California - no place is perfect.

Scooter, abstaining from alcohol is not healthy at all. It is your duty to drink like a fish.

and i believe my answer at the time was something along the lines of, "when oil hits its peak, and investors start selling off, it will go into a nosedive." though i'm not sure if i speculated on the $30/per barrel aspect, but i was most likely doubtful of it, yet hopeful at the same time.
