Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Walter and his cat

In 1995, Walter, who worked in a nursing home, went to a professional photographer, and had this picture of himself and his cat taken. He then gave it to one of his co-workers. Walter is all right.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Walter seems friendly enough. I am going to assume kitty clawed his eyes out shortly after this picture was taken. He does not look happy.
