Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Benjamin N. Cardozo

He was the first Hispanic Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Wait... what?

Sonia Sotomayor is Peurto Rican. Ben Cardozo was a Portuguese Jew nominated by Herbert Hoover in 1932 to replace Oliver Wendell Holmes. Look it up.

This is why you should not take anything the mainstream media says without a grain of salt.

well - in all fairness; cardozo family legend held that their ancestors came from portugal but i don't think they could actually prove it.

also there is an argument over whether portuguese is hispanic. the u.s. census bureau doesn't consider it so but otoh most other government agencies do.

but i just included all that because i thought you would find it interesting. your overall point - yes, you should take any mainstream story with a varying amount of salt - a grain or a salt shaker.
