He is always to be remembered in my household as a man of integrity and vision. I am a graduate of an institution of higher learning, and gainfully employed, because of his belief in the transformative power of education.
A lot has happened since my last post. I am a college graduate. I am employed in a field of my choice, doing things that bring me joy. I am slowly moving into my mother's old house, of which she is giving to me, thereby erasing nearly sixty thousand dollars of my family's debt in the form of Kim's current mortgage.
I am in the process of applying to electronic classes to acquire my bachelor's degree.
Kim and my daughters bring me unparalleled joy each and every day.
Simply put, I'm doing all right.
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.
