Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Mary-Louise Parker

She portrays a less than thoughtful woman named Nancy Botwin on the Showtime series "Weeds". Let me just say this right now: don't ever have unprotected sex with a Mexican Kingpin. It just ends badly.

Kim and I sat on our porch for the first time this season. We listened to music, drank wine, and watched the birds flit about on the tree branches. A Raccoon trundled about on the roof of a neighbor's house. The rain made everything smell fresh.

Life is good.
