Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Paul Ryan

He is a douchey douche nozzle with a douche hair cut. And he looks stupid when he smiles.

All right, here's some esoterica on a Tuesday. The United States has a projected gross domestic product for fiscal year 2011 of 15.3 trillion dollars. The census estimate has the population at around 311.6 million people. That gives us a per capita income of $49,101.41. The United States Federal Budget for 2011 is 3.83 trillion dollars. That means that around $12,294 per person is spent by the federal government.

12294 / 49101.41 = a gross tax rate of 25.03 per cent to cover the deficit.

Now, a flat tax rate of 25% would be incredibly unfair for almost everyone, and this is why a graduated income tax scheme is in effect in The United States. However, we don't even apply a gross tax rate of 25.03 per cent in this country.

Remember when I said our government (I really doubt anyone but my friends are going to read this) spends $12,294 on each of our asses? The IRS sure as hell does not collect $12,294 per ass. They collect $7,316.12 per ass. That is a deficit of $4,977.88 cents per ass.

Or more professionally, we have a gross tax rate of 14.9 per cent at the federal level. That is the lowest gross tax rate for the industrialized world. To put that in perspective, Norway's income tax rate is 40 per cent, and it's sales tax is 25 per cent. Norway is swimming in oil receipts, by the way.

Paul Ryan wants to cut the social safety net to ribbons and LOWER TAXES. Paul Ryan is a fucking asshole.
