Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Sinqua Walls

He portrayed Lancelot in ABC's "Once Upon A Time".

All right, so this just struck me. Almost everybody on Once Upon A Time is white. That's fine, it is mostly an amalgamation of European fairy tales, and most people looking for roles in Hollywood are white. What isn't fine... is what has happened to two black characters on the show. Lancelot saved Snow White and protected the survivors of the curse as best he could. He's killed by Cora off screen. Gus, or Billy after being cursed, was one of Cinderella's mice that helped her thwart her step sisters and step mother. He became Billy after being cursed, and was going to go on a date with Ruby. He was killed by Albert Spencer off screen in order to frame Ruby for the murder.

Now, I don't care so much that the characters were murdered. It advanced the plot, whatever. It just so happens that two speaking roles portrayed by African Americans in a European American dominated show got murdered. Is Hollywood racist? Is Once Upon A Time racist? I don't know, but stuff like this bothers me.

Sound off in the comments.
