Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Dad

Thank you.

Well, today was eventful. I really don't want to turn this little patch of cyberspace into a diary, but I got nothin'... so I might as well post a catalog of the days events. I, a friend of mine, and my father completely hung the ceiling of my sister's new room with drywall. It was a beautiful thing. I have to give proper credit to Home Depot, though. Without their drywall lift, things would have gone a lot less smoothly. Let's see here... 16 8 by 4 foot panels is 512 square feet, and 4 10 by 4 feet panels is 160 square feet, so, we hung 672 square feet of drywall in eight hours.

Or, the equivalent thereof. My sister's ceiling is not 672 square feet. That's huge. There was a lot of cutting and shaving involved.

Any ways, that's what I did today. Hopefully there will be something a little more esoteric and whimsical tomorrow.
