Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Calvin Coolidge

He was a conservative that believed in limited federal government, capitalism, and state sovereignty. Many criticize his handling of the great flood of 1927, and his indulgences of business that helped to usher in the great depression, but he honestly believed in the concept of devolution of power. A government that can give you everything is a government that can take everything away.

I love Kim, and I want her to start making art again, because she is an artist, and her work can brighten a too dark world. If a shed with 220 volt electrical service is what is needed to help her give more art to the world, damn it, I am going to make that happen.

That's all I wanted to say today, here.
