Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Scott from CINTAS

He very patiently and politely waited until I was done with the clerk before rolling up the carpet that I used to be standing on.

So, a couple of things. First, Kim's sister in law, a nurse that works in a major metropolitan children's hospital here in Michigan, has started a blog. I will add her to my blog roll after I am finished with this entry. Second, Primal Beast is a friend that I have known for years. She would prefer to be anonymous for the time being, however I would like to take this opportunity to say that I am glad she has chosen this medium, Blogspot, as a way to express herself.

Now on to the randomness.

I don't like Rainn Wilson. Well, I should qualify that. I don't like his comedy. I am sure that the man himself is very personable with his friends and family, and professional and well-liked amongst his peers. That said... I just don't see his appeal. Perhaps my view is tempered with an Aspergerian perspective, but "Dwight Shrute" is an asshole. I mean... he craves power simply to HAVE power. That, right there, pisses me the hell off.

At the same time, seeing him fail hurts just as much as seeing him behave like an asshole. It's absurd, really for the writers of "The Office" to force me to be put into a position of empathy with an asshole. This annoys me to no end.

Any ways, the reason I am talking about Rainn Wilson is because while watching "The Big Lebowski" last night at Kim's house, there were commercials for Wilson's latest project, "The Rocker". The movie portrays the adventures of a band of young talented musicians and Rainn Wilson as the uncle of one of the band members, who is asked to be the drummer. Apparently, Wilson's character takes this opportunity to rock out in a manner that was denied to him in his youth.

I hate it already.

So, yeah... every time a commercial for "The Rocker" came on the TV, I fantasized about punching Rainn Wilson in the mouth. Which is not really something that I fantasize a lot about, committing violence upon celebrities.

In any event, there was no shark oriented programming for me last night, at the request of Kim. Tonight, I will shark it up with my SharkVo, yo.

Oh, please visit Kim's blog, and wish her a fast recovery for her shoulder, which is having muscle spasms.

cool pic. Yeah so, so far since I met you and started blogging, my mom, sister in law, and best friend have all started blogging as well. Pretty cool, eh?
I like Dwight. He amuses me. He has some human moments that actually make you respect him a tiny bit.

you know, i've noticed that there has been a serious lack of mako programming. i think makos are my favoritist sharks in the whole wide world.

This post made me laugh out loud at work. Now I won't be able to watch The Office without imagining you barging on set, socking Dwight in the face.

Indeed, Dwight's character is a pompous asshole. Maybe that's part of why I enjoy watching him in The Office. If it were reality though, I suppose that guy would be a bitch to work with. He's not exactly a likable kind of asshole.

Ah Makos. Now they're the epitome of feeding frenzy, no doubt. Built for speed and agility. Say what you will about Great Whites and Tigers, but those Makos are crazy.

primal, it's true. but when you ask any shark biologist which is the smartest shark they all defer to the mako. the first man that i know of that would hand feed sharks, started off with makos. after the first couple feedings they would cease to nictate the nictitating membrane knowing there was no danger. seriously what the guy was doing this past week with tiger sharks was done a decade ago with a makos and a whole ass ton of them at that. i love those sharks. i miss having the money to scuba. soon though. soon.
