Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

Paul Newman

He was a good man. No... he IS a good man. Death doesn't change that.

My girlfriend threw me a surprise birthday party last night. There was cake, pirate themes (yarr), my Halloween costume as a present, books as presents, karaoke, my dearest friends, and the people I would like to call my family.

I love Kim.

I'm glad you had a good time. I didn't think to invite anyone but myspace people, and should have remembered Chud. Sorry 'bout that. There are a few others... next time. I love you too Mark!

happy b-day, scoot!!!

and i hate to tell ya, once a man dies he is a good corpse.

Seriously though, I loved Paul. I had major respect for him. We should all aspire to be as good a person as he was. RIP.

I appreciate your appreciativeness for your bday dinner. It sucked that you weren't here to help me hang up your banner cuz I had to do it all by myself while the couch took on life and threw me off twice and the stupid packing tape kept folding on itself and the "H" ripped. So I through the tape against the wall, cussed more than usual ( the neighbors think I'm a bawdy grandma). But I pulled it together and was glad you enjoyed yourself. I had fun putting all the pirates and sea paraphenalia on your cake. I wanted to sneak in a hot looking chopper (to reference your scooter) put Jesse stopped me. I hope the new shirts fit ya. If not, don't be shy 'bout tellin' me. Anyway, you are now a part of our family birthday party archives. We have pics to prove it.

Booo Hoooo!!! Oh, Paul, I'll come party with ya someday. Save me a good stool. Joanne can go hang with Sinatra or something.

By the way, I meant to say "threw" not "through" the tape against the wall. I just couldn't live with the shame.
