I am using the ends to justify the means. I will not apologize for that.
However, Cassie, I will say that sometimes I write quicker than I edit, and if there are several posts that are offensive, I admit to being thoughtless and crass. I honestly try to live my life in a way that is positive and pleasant, but I am human and make mistakes.
Chud, as the days go by, the older posts fall off of the main page. If you want to continue a coherent discussion, do be a dear and realize that. As for my faith in Christ, yeah... one can believe in Christ and believe in science and believe in the inherent faultiness of the Bible. Indeed, that world view is a lot more coherent than a belief that Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem on a velociraptor.

you're entitled - i wouldn't say otherwise. i was giving the result of my fishing expedition: no christian zealotry; no particularly right wing/strong republic views; couple of whacky statements that made me go --- what the fa . ..
talk about slippery slope - any time you use the ends to justify the means you are riding that proverbial aforementioned hill. you don't need to apologize for it just be aware.
hitler had support because people were supporting the ends (restoration of german strength). and no, i am not calling bob barr hitler. as far as i know he is only bigoted against witches and isn't interested in slaughtering us. although i wouldn't minimize his bigotry. society at large is already against witchcraft which is why a great many of us employ "the broom closet" - all we need is one jerk who actually wants to get them riled against us (he blamed military wiccans for youth violence).
but that aside that when you focus on the goal to the exclusion of the steps taken to get there then you put your principles on a sliding scale.
as for palin - her religion *should* influence her decisions. in terms of honesty; integrity and morality. if it doesn't then her religion is a sham. where it shouldn't interfere is in terms of her interpreting what god wants (drilling; teaching of creationism)
course personally, in terms of principle there is no difference between her saying that god wants them to drill and barr saying that god doesn't exist in the trees. each supposes to know the mind of the divine - which is funny; i get a kick out of that kind of thing - as long as they aren't in office that is.
let me tell you this though if bobby boy does go full on wingnut and starts hunting us down - i'm standing behind you or someone else that voted for the soulless bottom feeder.
